I looked at a few Victorian books to figure out the formatting for the text. For some reason, I really liked the narrow blocks of text with the massive margins on this copy of A Christmas Charol, and I feel like replicating this would help to give that vaguely historic aesthetic.

The difficulty is trying to get a design that is ornate enough to hark back to either Victorian or Elizabethan styles without completely overworking myself. Having a big old initial at the start of each chapter might help with this.
